The origin of the Western world is so poorly covered that I’ve sometimes wondered if it was being concealed on purpose. Events that don’t much matter are championed and the events that do matter aren’t even named.
In recent years this has begun to change, but the large currents of academia still push against it. Genetic studies have helped a good deal – they are hard science, after all, and difficult to ignore – and younger archaeologists are starting to pull themselves away from compulsory academic theories. Nonetheless, these advances can be found only by digging through research papers, many of which are kept away from the general public and far away from textbooks. I found several pieces of this puzzle in old museums, some of the pieces never having been published so far as I know.
