Description
The story of America is the story of subversion versus power. It began that way and it remains that way. And this story is important, not only for Americans, but for everyone with an interest in liberty and oppression… for anyone looking to build freedom in the world.
The American experiment involved the growth of liberty on an open continent, including adverse circumstances and old world rulers straining to retain their grasp. And the important players in this drama were not the famous but the average: farmers, mechanics, and so on. As much as I admire men like Samuel Adams and Thomas Jefferson, they were not the crucial players in this drama; rural people and townsfolk were.
